The ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ Trailer Just Dropped And It Is Truly Magical
"Mary Poppins. You came back!"
After a 54 year wait, Mary Poppins is back in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns!
The first trailer for the new film has dropped, which will feature Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins alongside a star cast including Lin Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Colin Firth and Meryl Streep.
And remarkably, Dick Van Dyke will return, playing the same character he played in that 1964 film.

The trailer begins by introducing us to a new generation of Banks kids — the original ones are all grown up and they haven’t seen their magical nanny since they were young.
And then, one day while one of the younger Banks kids is flying a kite:
“Mary Poppins. You came back!”
It looks like we’ll get all the wit and humour Poppins had in the original film again. In one interaction, Michael Banks (now a father) comments that the nanny hasn’t aged at all.
“Really! One never discusses a woman’s age, Michael,” Poppins responds. “I would have hoped I taught you better.”
The film promises a mix of live action and animation, and looks to include a tap dance number performed by Dick Van Dyke.
Mary Poppins Returns will come to cinemas on 19 December.
