Louis Theroux has spent his career making some of the strangest, weirdest, and most intriguing documentaries in the world. He’s spoken to the Westboro Baptist Church, Nazis, and inmates at one of America’s most notorious prisons, and now he’s bringing his brilliant mind back to Australia for the Louis Theroux Without Limits live tour.
His brand-new live tour is big news, huge, for anyone who’s ever wanted to know what happens after the cameras stopped rolling. Theroux will be joined on-stage by Julia Zemiro as the pair delve into the BBC filmmaker’s catalogue of extraordinary work.
The two-hour live show will uncover behind-the-scenes secrets from some of his most controversial documentaries.
From the scary truth of the opioid epidemic and the dark reality of sex-trafficking, to religious extremes and a whole new rulebook on modern-day relationships, Theroux has investigated the strangest parts of the world first-hand insight and his trademark sense of humour.
He’ll be joined by special guest Megan Phelps-Roper, one of the infamous subjects who featured in the Westboro Baptist Church documentary The Most Hated Family in America.
“Australians are obviously connoisseurs of the weird side of life, and I look forward to coming back,” Theroux said in what is perhaps the best compliment our country has received this decade.
The last time Theroux graced our shores was for a sell-out tour in 2016, so Louis Theroux Without Limits cannot come soon enough. As for the exact date, the tour kicks off in Perth on January 12, 2020, followed by dates in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
Louis Theroux Without Limits live tour dates:
- January 12, Riverside Theatre, Perth

- January 15, Brisbane Convention Centre, Brisbane
- January 16, Royal Theatre, Canberra
- January 14, 17 & 18, State Theatre, Sydney
