Pull out your celebrity bingo cards everyone, because whoever had “Lena Dunham”, “Ben Lee”, “Brad Pitt”, “The Gallagher Brothers”, and “Psychoanalysis” has just won a jug of beer.

This story is fairly bizarre, so let’s head right back to the start. A few months back, Girls creator Lena Dunham wrote on Twitter that she had a “lot of big opinions” about the Gallagher brothers’ famously fractious relationship, having just watched the documentary Oasis: Supersonic.

Out of nowhere, Aussie export Ben Lee slid into Dunham’s mentions to out himself as a fellow Gallagher Brothers fan.

And from there, the idea of hosting an event titled ‘Champagne Superanalysis’ was born.

Over the weekend, Dunham and Lee gathered in LA with a slew of celebrities — including Brad Pitt (who hosted the event), Spike Jonze, Julianna Barwick, Natasha Khan, Taylor Locke, Retta, and Lisa Loeb — to explore, analyse, and celebrate the relationship of the Gallagher Brothers through “dialogue and song”.

Apparently, Brad Pitt introduced the entire event with a rousing “Let’s do this, cunts” — which really is the only way to introduce any event, ever. By the looks of it, the night involved a lot of dramatic readings of various tweets and interviews of the brothers, and even included an interpretative dance set to ‘Wonderwall’.

Folks, we are truly through the looking glass. Check out clips of the evening below.
