The success of Fortnite has been so widespread that it was only a matter of time before the battle royale game made its influence known in the world of Hollywood cinema. So, here we have it folks, the first post-Fortnite film: the Ryan Reynolds vehicle Free Guy, set for release this December.

The film, which also stars acclaimed director and famous hot person Taika Waititi, alongside Jodie Comer of Killing Eve, has an enjoyably simple plot. Reynolds plays an NPC (non-playable character) in a vast online game, who gradually learns the truth about his world and his status as a meaningless nobody.

In the process of that revelation, he begins to selflessly help out other players, performing the kind of altruistic deeds that break the game’s world and attract the attention of bitter game designer Waititi, who gets ready to shut the whole game down. Cue a lot of plotting about the end of the world, a love story with Comer’s badass sprite, and a great deal of Reynolds one-liners.

I mean, the second trailer, released today, shows off this stuff pretty well, so just enjoy:

Fall Guy is due for release on December 11, so you can watch Jodie Comer beat up Ryan Reynolds to your heart’s delight then.
