On Friday, September 20, millions of Australians will walk out of their workplaces, schools, and homes to join the Global Climate Strike.
Over the past year, millions of young people have participated in school strikes every Friday to demand climate action. The Global Climate Strike is a chance for adults to add their voice to the cause and call for an end to the age of fossil fuels.
The climate crisis is the biggest threat facing our world and, by joining the Global Climate Strike, we’re sending a clear message that Australians demand immediate action. And the bigger the turnout, the stronger the pressure on the powers that be.
Which is why a bunch of your favourite brands are getting involved by giving staff the opportunity to join the strike.

Intrepid Travel, Patagonia, Keep Cup, and Who Gives A Crap, among others are putting their support behind the cause. The tech juggernaut Atlassian will be getting involved, and even financial companies like Australian Ethical Super and Future Super will be participating.
All of these brands and more will be closing their doors for a couple of hours on the day so staff can join the Climate Strike.
By shutting down on a Friday, these brands are showing the government that this is not business as usual – it’s a crisis, and we need to take unprecedented action.
