Idris Elba Casually Got Up Onstage With Lime Cordiale In Sydney Last Night

Not sure who had ‘Idris Elba working with Lime Cordiale’ on their 2021 bingo card — but if it was you, it’s time to cross it off.

DuringLime Cordiale’s show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre last night, the British actor, who’s in town to film in Thor: Love And Thunder, surprised just about everyone by jumping up with the band to throw down some bars in a song.

The Northern Beaches boys and the actor have apparently been in the studio together recently working on new material — and while Elba flagged to the crowd he might forget the lyrics, he reportedly completely smashed it. According to the Daily Telegraph, promoter Michael Chugg (whose label Lime Cordiale is signed to) said that Elba is “absolutely in love with [Lime Cordiale’s] music”.

Elba’s no stranger to the stage of course — he’s been DJing around the traps for well over 15 years, playing festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, and he even scored a hit with Sean Paul, Stefflon Don, and Wiley with ‘Boasty‘. He recently dropped a new single — ‘No More Looking Back‘ — featuring Steffanie Christi’an.
