Hot Dub Time Machine Mashed Up The Yours & Owls Artists In A New Mix, And It’s Perfect

Yours & Owls, one of the premier musical events of NSW’s festival season, is fast approaching.

The Wollongong-based festival hits Stuart Park for two days this October, and boasts one of the most diverse and fascinating lineups of its entire history.

Everyone from local legend Courtney Barnett to scuzzbuckets Skegss are set to play the fest, and the carefully curated selection of artists really does mean that there’s a band for every kind of punter. Whether you just wanna thrash about in the mud or you’re one of those gig-goers who want to hang off the front barrier and sedately gaze up at your idols, the festival has something for you.

Indeed, the thing’s so exciting that it’s kind of unfortunate that we have to wait a whole four months for it. But even the most impatient among you need not fear — ole mate Hot Dub Time Machine, one of the headliners of the festival, has crafted his own remix to get you in the right mood. Dubbed the ‘Hype-Up remix’, the track plucks some of the key songs from the festival’s performers — including Amy Shark, Slumberjack, Ruel, Vera Blue — and jams them into a soupy, delectable mix, capped with that Hot Dub Time Machine flair.

Of the remix, Hot Dub Time Machine (that’s Tom Loud to his mum) couldn’t be more effusive.

“I’m stoked to be performing at Yours and Owls,” Loud has said in a statement. “I genuinely think it’s one of the best Aussie line-ups I’ve ever been in with so many great musicians, so I made a quick mix of my fave songs for you to check out. See you there Wollongong.”
