Hannah Gadsby is heading back to the stage, with the Nanette comedian announcing a brand new show called Douglas. So yeah, not retiring then.

According to the announcement on Gadsby’s website, the new show is named after her dog. “Who is Douglas?” the description reads. “Well, apparently, Gadsby thinks he is the only one who can help her follow up on the trail blazed by her last show.”

The announcement also mentions that Gadsby’s last show “did alright”. Which is probably a bit of an understatement.

In an Instagram video, Gadsby joked that she had decided not to quit comedy, as she promised in Nanette, due to the fact that “I don’t have any other skill-sets”.

Douglas will have its premiere in Melbourne in late March (coinciding with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival) before Gadsby embarks on her first ever US tour. The initial dates are below, although Gadsby has promised more are on the horizon, including additional shows in Europe, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.  Tickets to the Melbourne show go on sale February 13 at 10am AEDT.
