Given that Game Of Thrones‘ massive Battle Of Winterfell was shot in 55 nights over 11 weeks, and featured a mind-boggling amount of bloodshed, it’s understandable they needed a few more extras than usual — and it turns out that two members of Foals jumped at the chance to live (and die) in Westeros.

Over on Instagram, Foals’ guitarist Jimmy Smith and drummer Jack Bevan have shared pictures of their outfits as extras — Bevan looks the most different, as the ginger has been given a ratty blonde wig. As massive fans, the musicians’ manager got them onto set, though they’re not too sure if they made it out.

“Last February our manager @qprimemgmt managed to get a lovely crew of us all into the Battle of Winterfell,” Bevan wrote. “Sadly, I don’t think we survived the night. It really was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had. Cheers to the best show of all time!”

He also promises a Dairy Milk bar to anyone who can share a screenshot of him in the episode. Given how dark most viewers found the episode, he probably won’t have to  come through with the goods.

Bevan and Smith weren’t the only musicians in the Battle Of Winterfell, either. Country star Chris Stapleton revealed earlier in the week he featured as a White Walker, alongside his manager and bassist. They got a fair bit of training, too.

“They knew we weren’t actors,” his bassist told Rolling Stone.  “So the direction was basically, we’re going to place you, and when we tell you to, open your eyes. And they trained us on how White Walkers are supposed to stand up and move when they’re first waking up. We had a crash course in that.”

The show’s long had cameos: who could forget Sigur Rós covering ‘The Rains of Castamere’ at Joffrey’s wedding, Mastodon’s two appearances, or that Ed Sheeran moment?
