Nine months after he dropped the lukewarm Revival, which was panned by critics and fans alike, Eminem has surprise-dropped a brand new album, titled Kamikaze.

The new project is 13 tracks long, and sees Eminem throwing punches at pretty much everyone that talked shit about Revival: “They’ve been painting my album to death/So I’ve been giving the media fingers” he sings on opener ‘The Ringer’.

He’s also throwing his weight around against other rappers: ‘The Greatest’ samples and flips the beat from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘HUMBLE.’, while Eminem asserts himself as the greatest in the world. At other points he references J. Cole, Lil Xan, and Die Antwoord.

The record also includes a couple of skits — including a recording of a voicemail his manager Paul Rosenberg, in which he asks Eminem whether releasing Kamikaze is a good idea.

While Revival was heavy with feature pop acts, Kamikaze only has a few guest verses from the likes of Joyner Lucas, Royce Da 5’9”, and Jessie Reyez. Also, if the album art looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s an homage to Beastie Boys’ iconic 1986 record Licensed To Ill.
