Tesla has announced its brand new Chairperson, set to replace mega-dweeb and CEO Elon Musk, and hey look it’s Aussie executive Robyn Denholm!

Musk first revealed he would be stepping down from his role as Chair of the electric car company in September after an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission ended in charges against him and Tesla for misleading shareholders via posting a joke-tweet about their shares being worth $420.

Yep, he lost his position because he did a joke online about the weed number. Truly, one of the greatest minds of our generation…

Whilst he remains CEO and on the board, Tesla was forced to find a new Chair and landed on current Telstra Chief Financial Officer Denham, who will transition to the full-time gig in 6 months.

Denham has only been at Telstra since January 2017, with prior experience in both car manufacturing (a stint at Toyota) and Silicon Valley tech companies (some nerdy as hell sounding company called Juniper Networks) sure to come in handy as she takes on the role of Elon’s boss.

The two, however, will work closely together during the handover period with Tesla saying in a statement “To ensure a smooth transition during the remainder of Robyn’s time at Telstra, Elon will be a resource to Robyn and provide any support that she requests in her role as chair.”

Best of luck to Robyn in the new gig.
