Eighteen Film Buffs Talk About The Scariest Movies They’ve Ever Seen
Even film critics watch these movies with the lights on.
Supergirl
Paul Struthers, Mardi Gras Film Festival
When I was very young, I went to the cinema all the time in my suburb in Glasgow. I must have been four or five years of age when my dad took me to see Supergirl.
Superheroes were my fave, but as soon as Selena, played by Faye Dunaway, came on screen, I started crying more than I had ever at a film. My dad had to take me out, and in the cinema reception we ran into the projectionist. He took us to the projection both, in the hope that my tears and fear would end if he showed me it was just a film.
I did stop crying, and that’s when my love of cinema began.
