The Victorian Liberal leader, Michael O’Brien, wants people to ‘Eat Out for Victoria’, and well, someone should probably tell him what that means.

The initiative is part of the Victorian Liberal Nationals’ plans, which they want Daniel Andrew’s government to implement in order to repair the “damage” caused by the extensive lockdown in the state.
The idea is the government would foot 50% of Victorian’s eating out (at restaurants) bills (maximum of $20 per person) for a period of four weeks.
It’s very unlike me to be against free food, but now would be the time to point out that similarly named ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ campaign rolled out in the UK actually caused COVID-19 cases to rise in areas with a large number of participating restaurants. And now the UK are headed into a second lockdown, similar to the one Victoria’s emerging from.
The initiative is highly unlikely to be put in place because of this, but we still have some serious questions. Like, who is approving these slogans? Does anyone under 35 work in these offices? Is someone doing God’s work and trolling them from the inside?
This is not the first of such giggle inducing incidents to have happened in the last few weeks.
First, there was Tim Smith’s completely unironic donut dick.
800. That’s the number Daniel Andrews should be reflecting on.
Rather than gloating, he should take responsibility for 800 Victorians who died in the second wave caused by his hotel quarantine fiasco.

And then there’s yesterday’s announcement from the Health Minister of a ‘How’s Your Head Today’ campaign, which is about mental health — despite what it sounds like.

As the old joke goes — there’s been no complaints.
Whatever’s happening, whoever is doing this, please keep it coming (pun unintended).
