Cosmo’s Midnight And Genesis Owusu Covered Gorillaz And It Was Sexy As Hell
Today's listening = sorted.
Last week, Amy Shark, Thelma Plum, and The Teskey Brothers teamed up on stage for The Set’s traditional end of show cover tune.
They took on ‘Valerie’, The Zutons’ track popularised by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson, and it was, of course, delightful.
This week, it was Sydney’s Cosmo’s Midnight and Canberra’s Genesis Owusu stepping up to share the stage; they took on Gorillaz’s 2005 track ‘Dirty Harry’, making it decidedly more sexy than the original.
It wasn’t the only collab of the evening: Winston Surfshirt jumped up with Cosmo’s Midnight for their track ‘Get To Know’. Before that, Genesis tore through his track ‘Simmer Down’, and Press Club crushed ‘Suburbia’; catch up on those here.
Get around the performances below, or you can watch the whole episode on ABC’s iView. Before you do that, read our feature on the making of The Set here — and tune into the show every Wednesday night on ABC and iView at 9.55pm.
