A Truck Crash Has Spilled A Million Chicken Nuggets Over The Hume Freeway, Causing Traffic Chaos
Why'd the chicken nugget cross the road?
Traffic is an absolute clusterfuck on the Hume Freeway heading north from Melbourne this morning, and approximately one million chicken nuggets are partly to blame.
Overnight, a semi-trailer carrying 20 tonnes of delicious nuggets and fillet-o-fish hit a car parked in the emergency lane, crashed through a barrier and rolled, leaving boxes of nuggets strewn everywhere.
The northbound lanes near Melbourne’s Epping are closed as a result. As Vic Traffic put it on Twitter, “Truck has rolled. Chicken nuggets everywhere. Avoid.”
Truck has rolled on the Hume. Everyone’s okay – but there are chicken nuggets everywhere. Apparently there’s one million of them all over the road. All lanes are closed heading north just past the M80, so please avoid.

Miraculously, everyone seems to be okay — the car the truck hit was unoccupied, just parked in the emergency breakdown lane, and the truck driver sustained only minor injuries. He had a dog in the car, but the pup is also reportedly a-okay — a cop on the scene told the ABC “I’m happy to say that dog’s doing fine, it’s probably had the adventure of a lifetime”.
No word yet on whether the million chicken nuggets will be recovered. We’re guessing that would probably be unhygienic.
