And you don't even need to get past the bouncers.

For techno-loving Aussies, a trip to Berghain, the mecca of dance music, isn’t exactly cheap.

The flights to Germany cost an arm and a leg in and of themselves — and it’s not even necessarily a sure thing that you’ll get in. Before you can make your way into the sweaty halls of the cultural institute, which has been The Place To Be for over a decade, you’ve got to get past imposing head bouncer Sven Marquardt, himself a legend.

So no, what I’m saying is, unless you’re willing to plonk down a considerable chunk of your salary, a trip to Berghain is about as accessible as a trip to the moon.

Unless, that is, you’re happy to substitute the actual brick and mortar building for an eerily accurate recreation in the massively popular block building game Minecraft. Then you can take a trip to the home of techno literally every goddamn day.

Yep, thanks to some glorious person on the internet who has dedicated a significant part of the only life they’ll ever get to live on a recreation of the building, fans can enter the hallowed halls of Berghain whenever they wish. And this isn’t just some pale knock-off, either: the Minecraft recreation nails the entire Berghain aesthetic, from the blank, concrete interior, to the spiralling staircases, to the trimmed hedges out the front.

So what are you waiting for? Blast the techno of your choice, turn off your lights, and go for a digital dance, why don’t you?
