With just a few short weeks to go until the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel has unveiled a heap of new character posters confirming the fates of its most iconic heroes following Thanos’ West Side Story routine. And it looks like a couple of characters who we assumed had bit the dust (lol) are actually alive and kicking. For now, anyway.

The posters hit social media earlier today, and for the most part confirmed what we already knew. Most of the original roster including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Black Widow are still standing, as are the likes of Ant-Man and Captain Marvel. Not so lucky were Black Panther, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Nick Fury and the entire Guardians of the Galaxy save for poor old Rocket.

But there were a couple of posters featuring characters whose fates were previously unknown. Turns out Happy Hogan, Pepper Potts and Wong are still very much alive. But the even bigger revelation is that Thor: Ragnarok favourite Valkyrie somehow survived both Thanos’ attack on the Asgardian refugee ship and his subsequent finger snap.

The bad news: as we suspected based on in the initial teaser trailer, Shuri did not survive.
