Ariana Grande is quite busy at the moment, given she’s co-currently promoting her album Sweetener while teasing her impending follow-up, thank u, next.

All week, she’s been teasing a just-wrapped music video for the new album’s title track — one which will see her pay homage to Bring It On, First Wives Club, Legally Blonde and Mean Girls. Now, she’s taken a moment out of her day to utterly rinse UK’s resident conservative commentator, Piers Morgan.

On Good Morning Britain, Morgan offered up his opinion about British pop group Little Mix, assumedly in a last-ditch attempt to fill a few minutes in of the ceaseless, never ending quest for light-hearted breakfast tv banter.

And this man does not like these women! Specifically, he thinks that their latest promo for LM5 single ‘Strip’ — in which they pose naked painted with insults which have been thrown at them across the years — is “using sex to sell records”  masquerading as a feminist statement.

“What is empowering about this?,” says Morgan. “I mean seriously – get your kit off, airbrush yourself to within one inch of your lives and put a bunch of horrible words on yourself.”

Morgan continued to decide what was and wasn’t empowering for women online, later saying the girls copied the (routinely used) photoshoot concept from The Dixie Chicks’ 2003 Entertainment Weekly cover.

Grande was having none of it — first, she sent some solidarity to Little Mix, telling them to “keep fighting the good fight”.

She then @’d Morgan, saying “I look forward to the day you realise there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticise young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. I think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it.”

To really drive home the point, Grande tweeted out a pic of Morgan shirtless — one which he used to promote a column about being a “proud masculine man” for International Men’s Day on the very same day he criticised Little Mix.

While Morgan continues to Tweet about how Correct He Is, we’re done. As Grande would say, ‘thank u, next’.
