The New Trailer For Season Seven Of ‘Archer’ Is Just A Madly Over-The-Top Tribute To ‘Magnum P.I.’

Of all the constantly running in-jokes Archer is loved for, one of the most consistent, obscure and hilarious ones is Archer’s ongoing love for vintage action movies and TV shows. Top Gun, The Great Escape, Rambo, every single Burt Reynolds movie; hell, the entire fifth season was a tribute to Miami Vice.

Now a newly-revealed first glimpse at the show’s upcoming seventh season reveals the show’s basic spy-agency premise is due to be shook up yet again, in an extremely Archer way. Much like Season Five’s point-perfect recreation of the Top Gun trailer, Kenny Loggins’ ‘Danger Zone’ and all, Season Seven’s teaser is a ludicrously accurate homage to the opening credits of Tom Selleck’s lovably ridiculous ’80s crime drama, Magnum, P.I.
