The standard talk-show promo circuit that comes around whenever someone famous writes a book is usually pretty dull; the host doesn’t have much new material to interview with beyond “you’ve written a book, tell us about the book”, the famous person has little to say besides “I have a book, please buy my book”, and it’s all a bit pointless and circular.
Not so when Amy Poehler writes a book — she just went on Ellen to promote ‘Yes Please’, and Ellen quizzed her about all the weird stuff about herself she reveals in the book, like how she writes topless to reward herself and how she will definitely snoop through all your things if she’s ever in your house. Those are two very specific personality traits, right there.
