Marshmello And Alison Wonderland Beefing At The ‘Fortnite’ World Cup Is Peak 2019
"A simple acknowledgement would have been nice rather than calling me a liar."
Alison Wonderland and helmeted hitmaker Marshmello were involved in a Twitter tussle over the weekend, after Wonderland claimed that his security guard shoved her at an event they were attending.
The two DJs were competing in the Pro-Am Fortnite competition in New York City — Wonderland was teamed up with user LoserFruit, Mello with Ninja — which ended up being won by their producer mate RL Grime, who was put with Airwaks (they took home a cool US $1 million, with RL Grime donating his cut to the American Civil Liberties Union).
The scuffles apparently weren’t limited to the screens — while backstage at the competition, Wonderland claims that Mello’s security guard shoved her out of a room.
“Lmfao marshmello bodyguard just pushed me out of the way,” she wrote in a now deleted Tweet. “I was just minding my own business leaving the room I was just playing the tournament with u [sic] and he shoved me out the side! What the.”
Wonderland didn’t seem to think it was a big deal, but Marshmello hit back immediately. “This is not right,” he responded. “I saw the whole thing, as he was escorting me through the crowd in the dark and you had your back turned to us and brushed shoulders with him. My security would never push anyone out of the way.”

Wonderland signed off on the beef a short time afterwards, writing in a separate Tweet: “People who are not able to say sorry are fucking weak.”
It’s not the first time this year that Marshmello has been caught in the middle of a Twitter storm. Earlier this year his one-time collaborators Chvrches called him out for his decision to work with Chris Brown.
“We are really upset, confused and disappointed by Marshmello’s choice to work with Tyga and Chris Brown,” the band wrote in a statement posted across their socials. “We like and respect Mello as a person but working with people who are predators and abusers enables, excuses and ultimately tacitly endorses that behaviour. That is not something we can or will stand behind.”
Brown ferociously hit back, and the Scottish band were forced to hire more security at their shows due to death threats. Marshmello never responded to the controversy — apart from commenting positively on an Instagram photo comparing Chris Brown to Michael Jackson and Tupac. Which is, you know, always a good move.
