This Seagull Getting Owned By A Ball At The Footy Is A Perfect Metaphor For My Life
Relatable.
An unsuspecting seagull was cleaned up by the football during Sunday’s AFL clash between Hawthorn and North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium. And honestly, if there is a better metaphor for life in general, I cannot think of it.
One minute the poor bird was chilling on the turf minding its own business. The next minute, whack: taken out by a ball to the back of its head.
The incident was captured during the Channel 7 broadcast, complete with colour commentary by Brian Taylor.

The bird was left with an injured wing and was unable to fly. It was later seen being rescued by a group of match officials.
Footy fans have expressed their concern for the animal on social media, with many asking for an update on its injury.
Forget the score, I need a seagull update! #aflnorthhawks

It was a bad day for birds all around, with the Hawks going down in an upset by 28 points.
